I have spent this year getting this new web site up and running so please check out the features here and look for new additions in the future. I will be posting my music under the media tab, and I now have 79 original folk hymns that I am planning to record an post as we go.
I am also beginning a couple of new blogs, from this website. I will keep people posted on the events here at the Earthwalk Retreat and the beautiful moments that happen, along with occasional teachings on the Art of Deep Listening, Soul Whispering and Natural Communion.
What is really pushing on me these days is a story. It started to come into my imagination several years ago while on retreat in Mexico, after doing some sacred ceremonies. This story continues to weave its tapestry inside my mind but I find that I cannot put it into a linear framework. It wants to be born now and I don’t even have an outline; Just a bunch of connections like a giant spider web through space and time, yet beyond time and always now.
Yes, it is a Faery Story. It is the story of a River Faery named Flow. It is a very encompassing story, so if I were to wait and write it all out before publishing, it might not ever get told. So I am going to try a great experiment. I am going to blog weave this faery story on line.
I plan to make use of the great web of the internet to help the weaving. The links that are available on line can add information from science, history and natural history, art, culture and religion that the story is drawing on. Also it can be multimedia, including my music and photography. Maybe someone will want to illustrate it with video as well.
The possibilities are endless, so I invite you to join me on the adventure. I will create a separate blog category for this Faery Tale. Follow me and get the latest posts as they come out. Stay tuned for the amazing themes and subjects we will be exploring……..
.First and foremost we will be exploring the amazing nature of water Water.. Afterall, Flow is a River Faery.
Did you know that we are just now discovering the 4th state of water. Water is the star of this story. Water is an amazing entity and appears to be template for life. Science is making many new amazing discoveries about water, and water has always been a very unique element with properties that are not entirely understood. The quote below is from a 1967 lecture by Theodore Schwenk. pp 4-5 What is Living Water from the book Water The Element of Life. And for the latest on the 4th state of water please go to
“Life manifests itself in quite specific, tangible attributes in every living creature; in growth, reproduction, metamorphosis, (i.e. changes of form that take place in organisms); in metabolic functions, which include the digesting of food and excreting of wastes; in the regulation of chemical, warmth and other processes; in tides of burgeoning and fading that rise and fall in defined time patterns, always subject to life’s characteristic rhythms. ….
Everyone knows that water has a close affinity with all forms of life…Is growth possible without ti? Propagation? Metamorphosis? Are digestions and excretion conceivable where water is lacking? Is it not essential to conversion processes and organ functions? Is it not the great mediator and regulator of chemical, warmth and other processes, both in living organism and outside them? Can a living organism even come into being without water’s help? And in the last analysis, could rhythm exist in organisms if there were no fluids. Life it seems depends on water for its very life.
Why, then, does water, which has no life-characteristics of its own, form the very basis of life in all life’s various manifestations? Because water embraces everything, is in and all through everything, because it is a universal element shared by all; itself undetermined, yet determining; because like the primal mother it is, it supplies the stuff of life to everything living. And what makes water capable of these feats?
Renouncing any form of its own, it becomes the creative matrix for form in everything else.
Renouncing any life of its own, it becomes the primal substance of all life.
Renouncing material fixity, it becomes the implementer of material change.
Renouncing any rhythm of its own, it becomes the progenitor of rhythm elsewhere.
