Forest Therapy Guide Trainings Offered Spring and Summer 2016.! Return to Forest Therapy Page
Dear Nature Lovers:
Here is my spring into summer Forest Therapy Guide Trainings schedule for 2017 here at the Forest Therapy Institute near Fredericksburg, Virginia.
May 20-21, June 24-25. We will add trainings depending on demand though the fall.
This will be a 2 day Basic Forest Therapy Guide training held at the Earthwalk Retreat. We will start at 9am Saturday and go through till 3pm Sunday.
The training will be both conceptual and experiential and will give participants what they need to create their own Forest Therapy experiences for others based on the sound principles that underlie the benefits of this practice. The goal of the training is to impart the keys to maximizing intake of Vitamin N, which is a metaphor for supporting the natural state that the forest invokes through sensory presence.
A resource list will be provided where the science can be found both in terms of stress physiology, heart coherence and Forest Therapy research. Advanced specialty classes will hopefully spring up through many of you who might offer this to certain groups like children or the handicapped or elderly and your expertise in these areas could be offered to others as you put this into practice where you are called.
Accommodations: Overnight Tent camping is available and food will be provided. Local people can commute but people are encouraged to let the experience deepen with a full nature immersion. There are a few indoor sleeping spaces that can also be used.
Prices: $275.00 – 295.00 Some partial scholarships are available.
This cost includes: 14 classroom hours plus 1 follow up individual supervision session. Depending on the student more than one supervision session may be desirable.
Includes 5 meals and 2 snacks starting with breakfast Saturday morning and ending with a late lunch Sunday afternoon. Tents camp mats, cots, hammocks and nets, etc for various comfortable sleeping options are provided. If people have their own equipment there is $20 off.
(indoor space will be a bit more depending on if it is shared space or private).
Everyone is welcome to come Friday.
Best times to travel here down the 95 corridor is late evening or very early morning
